I NEED HELP..Please help me..desperate

Hello, I have had ALOT OF PROBLEMS for awhile now on windows 98 and I just found
out about this site. If anyone can help me I two major things I need help with.
First, when I run the Ad-aware 6 program and it has finished running through the
cycle:It brings these in the delete files
Vendor/Featured Results-Object/HKEY_CLASSES_-----HKEY_LOCAL_-----There are a couple
of HKEY_ words I dont remember- I really want to fix this problem-Before I started
getting these type of objects..in the lines, they were the basic type of picture's.
Resembled a peice of paper I think. It might be something w/ the browser or it may
be someone is trying a "possible hijack attempt" like it sometimes may say.
THIS IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM: 1 other problem I have is this: I have road runner service
and most of the time I cannot be on the internet(once I have clicked on the internet
explore icon to load) more than 10 min. then a little square error box pops up::Says
"explorer" and it will shut down. Or when I go to type something in the www. bar
on top of the screen it will shut off.
THANKS FOR READING MY POST...& I NEED HELP!!

For your first problem, post on the LavaSoft support forums for an explanation of
Ad-Aware related questions.
You'll need to be more clear on what you're asking, though! "There are a couple
of HKEY_ words I dont remember- I really want to fix this problem....."
Nobody can help, if you don't remember. "I think", doesn't work either. You need
to get error messages down correctly and explain your problem, so it's understood.
About your Internet Explorer problem, try repairing Internet Explorer: Go to Start
- Settings - Control Panel - choose Add-Remove Programs. Click to highlight Internet
Explorer then click the Change-Remove tab - choose Repair I.E. OK - Yes.

Your first problem is a corpted registry. This is serious but not fatal. If you not
a registry wiz kid I have recovered by re-booting holding down the F8 key and selecting
COMMAND PROMPT ONLY from the start menu. Once in DOS type REGSYS which loads the
list of the last 5 successful registry starts. Select the oldest. This should fix
the problem. If NOT, Reload windows over its self. You should not loose any files
or schructure. Windows will load its base files over themselves if you reply to the
question to have windows re-load,(YES). This should also help with the second problem.
I would suspect adware of corrpting the Windows registry.

She wants to run Delindex.
So the boot menu DOS access would be preferable.

It must be late, the command is scanreg not regsys. Regsys is a utility I wrote for
doing register work on a network. You can find scanreg on the path C:\windows\command
and then type dir/w/o to display the directory (folder) in wide mose in apha order.

Sorry, Kevin, Carol caught my error in what command I gave you in my original msg.
it should scanreg not regsys. Other than that it should be OK.

For one, this isn't what the poster needs. Two, there's no such command as "Scanreg".

Did you check or just putting this out there because? This recovery method is covered
in the windows 98 resource kit and a required for passing the MSceritication on WIN98.
However, it is mute in Opperating Systems after 98, as Xp Home and Pro. I don't know
about 2000 or ME but would believe that is not in them eighter. To keep you happy
I'll but out and NOT return BYE.

Yes there is. Type scanreg into Google.

I don't need to use Google...

.....to tell me what Scanreg is. Apparently, you do. You're only trying to cause
me problems. "Scanreg" alone is NOT a command. Stay out of things you know nothing
about.

I do, maybe you should too. You should know that Scanreg is considered a DOS external
command like fdisk and it can be ran "alone" to check the registry for errors, or
with options. The poster may have been way off base regarding its use here but it
is still a command. Don't you think it is better and less confrontational to rebuff
his post with factual information and that is really what the problem is?

No, you don't. You jump in everywhere on these forums just to cause conflicts and
argue with someone..."Troll" behavior. I guess people like you need to cover up their
incompetence by trying to prove someone else wrong.
It wasn't necessary to explain to the poster, and it was totally irrelevant to the
OP's post. I know what Scanreg is, I use it all the time. I guess you needed to use
Google to do some research. You only posted to try to start an issue with me, which
is basically what you're best at around here. Funny, I see nowhere on this board,
where you posted a helpful reply?

Save the insults Carol. Your post was inaccurate. I don't think my reply was outside
the forum guidelines? I hope it is the webmasters intention to provide a public
forum here, where everyone can contribute ideas and information, not just a select
few, for the good of all. In fact if you feel that strongly about the appropriateness
of my replies in this thread I encourage you to report it and the others in which
John McMurty and you participated, I would be curious as to their take on the appropriateness
of your replies to him.
