I have a question about How do I get my mouse to work in DOS programs?:

I came to "Annoyances" for help with the related question. However, the solution given here for windows 98 is insufficient, as there is no .exe file for "msmouse". Therefore the posted solution does not appear to work or help. Does anyone have a true solution to this problem? Thank you.

Its probably msmouse.vxd in C:\Windows\System , and if it isn't there you need to
extract it from the .CAB Cabinet Folders and put it in this directory.

You will need a PS/2 mouse and not a USB mouse for this to work. I normally use a
USB mouse and have a spare PS/2 mouse for when I need one.
