An alert messege shows up saying "An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet
Explorer will now close. If you continue to experience problems please restart your
computer" . The first thing that happens is a the illegal operation window pops up
once i log in to my windows user login and then when I try clicking on any folder
on my desktop including my computer and it won't let me open it and responds by saying
"An error has occurred in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer will now close. If
you continue to experience problems please restart your computer". If anyone can
help me please email me: sbmc007@yahoo.com

These same symptoms have been very popular the last two days. It's surely some form
of new Spyware/Malware or a Virus. If possible, boot into Safe Mode.
Let us know if things function OK from there. You won't be able the connect to the
Internet in Safe Mode, but the source of the problem can possibly be located.

Yes! Everything works in safe mode but I already thought of doing that and if you
have some way solving the problem from there let us know.

Mine didn't say "explorer caused an invalid page fault in
>module kdp1a90.dll." but maybe if we figure out the problem the most of us are having
it will help you also. So keep coming on to see what people say.

This is just a first step.
Download and run CoolWebShredder. You're obviously using another system,
so transfer the program via floppy disk. If it detects anything, reboot and run it
again......

What can you do?
if you want a computer that works, get rid of Kazaa....
you are loaded with spyware & possibly a virus of two
for good measure.
Do a search on these forums for kazaa & see what
turns up,
P2P apps trash more systems than anything else.....

I am on the same computer when I am writing these emails and Internet Explorer works
and I have a Norton Virus check and adaware check as well. I can only open a few
items. I can open IE and some games that are on the desktop but located in my main
directory it is very weird. When said using a different system did u mean another
computer or did mean something else because I am only using one computer.

I'm sorry, there have been so many similar problems recently. I was thinking that
IE wouldn't open either (oh-duh). Did you try the shredder I suggested? You should
run it, and also SpyBot below.
Very Important: Be sure to use the update options within both of the above
programs before checking the system.

In addition to JmC's instructions, it's important to clear out all temp folders.
If you still have problems, after following the instructions you've gotten so far,
run HijackThis and post a log on the forum.
Clear out your TIF and other temp files. Go into Internet Options - General tab.
Delete temporary internet files, and choose to delete all Offline content. In Settings,
set the size of your TIF folder between 5 - 10 MB. Start - Find - Files or folders
- in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit - select all - File - delete. Empty
the contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. Empty
Recycle bin.
Download 'Hijack This' Unzip 'HT' into a "Folder", any folder but a
temp folder. It creates backups. Close all browser windows and run it offline. Double
click the .Exe file to run it. Choose Scan. It'll display a list. Most of the entries
listed are necessary or required entries. Don't fix anything, until you know which
items to fix.
You can check here for a description of the entries in the log:
HijackThisTutorial
After the scan is finished, the Scan button will turn into Save Log. Press that and
copy/paste the contents in a post. Before posting your message, choose this Option:
Check this box to preserve your spacing, etc....
I suggest installing SpywareBlaster for prevention. Check for and download updates
after installing it, and frequently thereafter. Enable protection for Restricted
sites, as well as IE. There's SpywareGuard, if you want to use both: JavaCoolSoftware.com

Mine works perfectly in safe mode, however I've run a virus scan (Trend Housecall),
Ad-aware, and Spybot. I've cleaned everything, and have no viruses. I'm freaking
out! (I suppose I'm pathetic, but the loss of my computer has me in a panic). Help!!!

I've done all what you have been told but still can't work. Below are my procedure
and some problems were raised:
Cleared all files in temp and TIF
Run softeare in both normal mode and safe mode:
Runned CWsheredder , evrything's fine
Runned SpyS&D
clear most problem searched
but there are always 7 files cannot be fixed:
CnsMin (c:\windows\downloaded program files\CNSMINSV.dll )
6 files for Download Accelerator Plus ad
(C:\HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\Speedbit\.....)
An message always comes out after using the problem and no matter how many times
I restart and use the program again, those 7 files can't be fixed:
Some problems couldn't be fixed, the reason could be that the associated files are
still in use (in memory). This could be fixed after restart
And then I use the Hijackthis
This is my hijackthis.log files

I had this problem(no explorer windows would open but IE would) and I fixed it. Here's
how. I'm not sure which one did it.
1. disable third party browser extensions in your internet explorer option under
the advanced tab in the browsing section.
2. go to "START", then "Run" and type in "msconfig", no quotes, go to the "Startup"
tab and disable "1A0 Stardock MCP".
The first time I disabled third party browser extensions and restarted the option
didn't change but I tried it again and it stayed. Hope this works for you guys.

MIKE, YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS. IF I HAD MONEY, I WOULD GIVE IT TO YOU :>). I
seriously didn't think ANYTHING would fix this. I didn't have 1A0 Stardock MCP running.
All I had to do was disable disable third party browser extensions internet explorer.
Everyone try this! Thanks Mike!

Hi Jin,
I apologize for the intrusions in your thread. It's rather rude for other users to
hijack someone else's discussion with their own problems. They should be posting
a new message of their own.
I hope you get this sorted out. Please let us know how it goes.

It may be this new issue that JmC fiigured out recently. There have been many posts
in the last couple days. The problem is an installed BHO, Browser Helper Object.
Apparently, the filenames are random.
They all involve .dll files and are located in the Windows\System folder. First you
need to disable the problem BHO, so download BHO Demon at this link:BHO Demon
Install then run it. If it locates anything (dll), highlight it, click 'details'
and in 'Select Status' click 'Disable'. Click 'OK', then exit the program.
Post back with the names of the BHO's you disabled, if you want advice, or you can
use the process of elimination to find out which one is the culprit. After you know
which one it is, you need to go to the location and delete it. Make sure you've got
"show all files" selected in folder options, it's a hidden file. We're not sure what
this is all about yet.
