Without a few questions answered, there's no telling when or why the error occurs.
If you are trying to change the logo's, this automated approach may help?

This is easy, open your dos prompt under the programs menu, applications, its a black
icon ond has the follwing symbol C:\........ go into the directory where the file
is and look up the file then once located under DOS prompt do the following
rename example.txt example.sys ENTER
If you don't understand dos commands, COPY the file and email it to me andy.theloft@ntlworld.com
and i will send it back in the name you want, but, before you put the file back,
keep a copy of your old file safe \o waves tara

Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>View>uncheck "hide extensions for known file types"
