Question about 'Choose Your Short Filenames'

I have a question about Choose
Your Short Filenames:
After reading the discussion, I discovered that these solutions do not work under
Windows XP. I then searched and found an application called setSFN, which sets the
short filename to anything I want without touching the long filename...beautiful.
However, I quickly thereafter discovered that it does not work on FAT volumes, which
is what I need.
So, my question becomes; how do I set the short filename independently from the long
filename on FAT volumes under WinXP?

Your question should be reposted under the XP forum, as it relates to the XP operating
system.
