I have a question about :
1. Window 98 keep wanting to detect and install device
unknow device ?,
2. How do get Mass Storage Device(USB Flash driver) on window 98
do not know is this is related.... tried to intall flash but
could not try to use recommened driver off internet did not take.
can anypoint me in right direction

Did you force windows to take it, actually select the .inf file and hit ok. If not
give that a try otherwise if you don't have driver disk, get it from manufactures
site make sure driver matchs model and is for 98 or google

You didn't install the way I suggested or its the wrong driver or it has a physical
problem. If you are 101% sure you have the right driver manual insatll browse to
location select the .inf>ok. If it won't take it try in safe mode. If this does not
work your out of luck I'm afraid

If you're running Win98 First Edition, the device drivers are probably not compatible.
Most USB flash drives require Win98 Second Edition.
You could drill through the Win98 USB section for system updates, and related
Microsoft articles here: USB-Man
