Question about 'Using .CAB Files'

I have a question about Using .CAB Files:

Hi, How are windows 98 users supposed to use this advice? If you follow the link to download the cab view utility then you get to the microsoft page for downloading 'power tools' which specifically states that the download is not for Windows 98 and I quote from that page 'NOTE: This download is not intended for use on computers running Microsoft® Windows® 98, or on computers running Microsoft® Windows® 95 OSR 1 or earlier versions.' Regards Mick

WinZip will open CAB files.

"How are windows 98 users supposed to use this advice?"

Obviously, they're not s'posed to use that advice, since it doesn't apply to Windows
98. What is it that want to do, and/or what problems are you having, if any?

Dear Carol, Can I suggest you read the advice on http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article01-010 It specifically states it is for Windows 98 and I quote 'If you're using Windows 95 or 98, you'll need the CabView utility (one of Microsoft's PowerToys). ' The problem is that when you follow the link you get to a microsoft web page which only allows you to download 'powers tools' (containing cab view), which, certainly in totality, is not suitable for windows 98. The point I am making is that annoyances org need to change or add to the advice that they give. ie is it that 'cabview' is suitable for windows 98 but the rest of power tools isn't? Regards Mike

I did read it. Then contact Annoyances about it, if you want. It won't do any good, but those of us on the forum, have nothing to do with the content on this site. It's pointless to tell us about it.
