recently, I have been deleting some useless files on my C drive so I would have more
space on my hard drive. I turned my PC off and then on again and it comes up with
invalid system disc I don't know what I did wrong but something is. Maybe I deleted
a program I shouldn't have? or maybe its something else Please help I would appreciate
it very much!

My motto is: if you're not sure what it is, leave it alone!
Now would be a good time to look for your recovery disk, so you can reinstall Windows.
Just be sure you "don't" format the disk or you will lose everything on your hard
drive.

Heh. Obviously, you should throw away your current guidebook.
Try "Windows for Dummies".

If you've deleted system files and emptied the Recycle Bin, all you can do is restore
a backup or reinstall. PC-911 Fresh Install
This procedure probably won't help, but worth trying.....
- Restart your computer using a Win98 boot disk, select option 2 on the Startup
menu and then press ENTER.
- At the A:\> prompt, type: SYS C: (note the 1 space) and press ENTER.
The following files will then be copied to the drive:
* IO.SYS
* MSDOS.SYS
* COMMAND.COM
- If the procedure is successful, a 'System transferred' message will appear. If
it is not successful, check to be sure you are typing the correct drive letter for
your Host Drive.
- Remove the boot disk and restart your system.

Just in case we are overlooking the obvious. Is there a floppy disk in the drive?
If so take it out. Other wise the other posts kind of sum it up!

Okay its me again with this invalid disk. (I got a little further yay!) I choose
option two put the windows 98 disk in to reinstall it and this came up; your computer
does not have a hard disk, your hard disk is not functioning correctly or your hard
disk requires a special disk driver. contact your computer vendor for assistance.
unfortuanantly I never bought the computer it was given to me by an aunt. and her
brother basically made all the systems. Maybe I need to get a new hard drive. or
maybe I should just chuck the thing out the window?
