my computer cannot open some pages such as msn, hotmail, microsoft, yahoo mail but 
it opens yahoo main page, google, etc..

Assuming you're using Internet Explorer as your browser, check the settings mentioned 
in the link below. This problem surely just started, what have you done to the system 
prior to this problem occurring?

There's also another Microsoft article relating to this type of problem, after one 
of their recent IE security updates.

i havent done anything to the system but before this problem, i used to dial up internet..then 
i changed it to the adsl and the problem start..after this probelm started, i set 
up the windows 98 again to solve the problem..however it doent work..i tried to acess 
the link you requested but even i cant open it..do you ve another idea..i need to 
read my e-mails:(

If you installed software for your new ADSL connection, there should be a firewall 
running. Normally they require setting changes after installation. Have you contacted 
your Internet Service Provided about the problem? This is where you should start!

Why not install a safer, faster browser like Firefox?

If you've reinstalled Windows, you should also visit the Windows update site for 
system security updates. Try the link on your start menu.
