"In normal mode it starts up on high resolution but internet does not work".
So what is the problem with the Internet, the browser you're using and are there
any errors displayed?
Was anything on the system changed, prior to this problem developing?

It is the old computer that I got it from my workplace when they rolled out new machines.
It used to be on the company network and the motherboard has the network connection.
I use linksys router at home to connect other pcs wireless. I bought a new linksys
pci adapter card as internet did not work with the network slot already there on
the motherboard. I hardwired the new adapter to the router.
As mentioned in my previous posting, now I can not change the screen resolution or
colors in this selective mode startup, however, internet works on this mode.
If I use the Normal start up, I get high resolution monitor, but internet does not
work.
That is the problem. Hope I explained properly and hopefully you may have some suggestions.
Thanks

It sounds as though there's a device conflict with the Network card and the video.
The first thing to try, is moving the Network card to another PCI slot if possible.
Also.....be very sure that the onboard LAN is disabled in the BIOS/CMOS setup.
You should get an idea of the problem, by checking 'Device Manager'.
