Check for loose Power, and Ribbon Cables to all the Roms, and Hard Drives.
BTW, Computers are easy to break.

From here I can't think of much else. I would find someone who Knows there
way around the INSIDE of a computer, and have them take a look. I can think
of all sorts of scary scenarios of ripping out a CD rom from the front of a working
Computer.

Cd roms are pretty inexpensive, so I would just replace it. 10 bucks for a Plain
CD rom to 30 bucks for CD Burner rom to 50 to 70 bucks for DVD Burner. If you just
unplug the power cable, and the Ribbon Cable from the Rom, and no
other damage, then the computer should run fine until you replace it. If you buy
from a local Big Chain Store you may pay a little more.

I found a small cable that was just hanging and I went fishing for a slot to put
it in and it started smoking.
I then unplugged the big cable from where it was smoking and now it won't let me
go to A:\>
My computer is a for real dinosaur but I will go this weekend and look for a cd
rom.
Thank you
