Changing IRQ settings

I have a question about Resolving
Hardware Conflicts:
My new printer which uses a USB port and my ethernet connection for my internet share
the same IRQ (#9). My machine keeps shutting down.
I want to change my USB port IRQ. However, when I go into Device Manager resources
and select change settings it will not let me change the IRQ. I get the message
NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED THIS RESOURCE SETTING CANNOT BE MODIFIED. How can I change
the setting or resolve the conflict?

David,
when you open Device Manager are you seeing Yellow exclamation marks or question
marks on one or more devices? If so, right click on the devices, select properties
and note any comments listed when you address the Tabs under properties. Do this
for each Yellow marked device and Post back. Please be specific.
Also post back with any error messages (detail again) that pop-up when your machine
shuts down. Also some detail on your System, ethernet card and printer would be helpful.
If there are no Yellow marked devices, concentrate on the
Shutdown problem.
