Recently found an ATI Radeon video card in my stuff after I moved. Have a Pentium
III 500mHz running Win98. Can I use this card in my machine ?
Particulars- Only identifying marks are ATI Radeon Graphics emblem on card, date
2001 and small type that states PN 109-85500-00. Cannot find card on ATI site.

Thank you for your reply. I installed it with the monitor connected to it and the
system would not boot into Windows. I then reattached the monitor to my old video
card (32 MB Hercules Prophet) and tried to get the Hardware wizard to recognize it.
It detected a PCI display adapter but gave me the standard VGA driver as the only
choice. I then downloaded the drivers you referred to and these gave me the message
that they don't apply to my card. Maybe it's an old mac only version. It's too bad
because it looks barely used.

Obviously this video card isn't going to work. If you haven't installed any other
drivers, restoring the registry should return your system to its previous video
drivers.
This only applies if you have the original video device reinstalled.
- Boot while holding the CTRL (or F8) key to enter the boot menu.
- Select the COMMAND PROMPT ONLY option and press enter.
- From the C:\> prompt, type SCANREG /RESTORE and press enter.
- When the restore screen appears, select a backup dated before this problem
occurred and then restart the system. (A properly working registry has the word
'Started' next to the date)
