re: Display properties dialog box problem Monday, March 6, 2006 at 10:22 am Posted by xyz (6 messages posted) When you open the Display Properties dialog box, either through Control Panel or by right-clicking the Microsoft Windows desktop and clicking Properties, the Web/other tabs may be missing. This behavior can occur if the DeskHtmlExt registry key is damaged or missing To resolve this issue, reinstall Windows on top of your existing installation. To do so, type a command line in the Run dialog box (on the Start menu), and use switches to rebuild your system files without affecting hardware settings and schemes. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\Display\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers\ The DeskHtmlExt key contains a "(Default)" value, which points to a class registry key and a Tag value, which is a number unique to a particular computer.
