i have a packard bell pc pentium II 266 mhz real magic em8300 video card sound blaster 16 pci 4.1 audio card win98SE after formatting hard drive and reinstalling windows i have no sound and i can only use 16 colors i have installed all system disks including the sound blaster disk that came with the card ,that i have with no luck..how do i get the right drivers to make my sound and video cards work?

When I format and rebuild I only get 16 colours initially this is because it doesn't 
recognise the monitor type and video card. This is usually Default Monitor, mine 
is a CTX 1451 so I select this from the list. If you don't know the monitor make/model 
then just choose a SVGA monitor from the list, that normally works. If you do know 
the make and model try

for drivers. Another thing is your video card, have you installed drivers for that?

As for the sound. Does it attempt to play any wave/midi files or do you get an error 
message? Is the volume turned up with Volume Control, SNDVOL32.EXE.
