Getting Rid of Spy-ware and Mal-ware on Win 98

Hi everyone,
My computer has tons of viruses and I'm wondering if there's a way I can get rid
of them in one shot versus manually deleting individual files. Some examples of
the (many) bad processes in my task manager are: topsearch, wtoolsa, wsup, mediaaccess,
viewmgr, wupdater, mediaacck, etc.
This computer has no virus protection at all. What programs should I download to
find and delete all the viruses, so my computer isn't horribly slow and useless?
Thanks!

Hi jesse, everyone has different opinions on what you need but, you will want
to download AVG free(viruses), spybot-seach and destroy (spyware), and Spywareblaster
(blocks most spyware). This is what I use but you may want something else or different
depending on your preferences. A good site to get all this from is www.download.com
and just search for the software names.

The best one Shot method, is reinstall Windows, but a computer with many different
infections will usually take many steps to remove them.

Search this forum using your title line and you will find everything you need. All
free, pretty effective.
You don't need personal advice - its already been given loads of times.

Follow the steps on the following link except the System Restore which is for Windows
XP.
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1113091578
Then post a Hijack This log on a maleware support forum such as the one at this link.

This is an appropriate suggestion for the HJT log. Even though you should also be
sure of the OP's gender, before suggesting a specific sexually oriented support site.
