Disappearing Icons

When I put a CD-R into the drive of my eMachines only about half of the Icons on
the CD are displayed. The CD was created on an XP machine but the Win98SE machine
isn't seeing all the files on it. How do I get all the files to be displayed?

The cd may have been written in two or more sessions. Try right clicking the drive
to change the session that is displayed.

The CD displays fine on the machine which created it. I'm going to try a different
CD-ROM drive to see if it will work better. I have had this problem before with different
machines but forgot how I fixed it!

Well, I finally fixed the problem by simply replacing the CD-ROM drive. But I would
still like to know why some drives see all the files on the disk and some see only
a few. Would appreciate any additional info on this problem. Thanx
