You should have your IP help set up your internet connection. Why wouldn't you contact
them for help anyway?
You don't have to install drivers for a DSL modem, but you need to have an Ethernet
card installed. Once everything's set up, you'll have a LAN connection icon showing
in your Network Connections.

Your Desktop?
...or wherever your provider's software put it.
|are you sure i no need driver for usb dsl modem.

Ethernet was assumed/advised.
Staying away from USB modems (especially on W98) is a good idea.
|And you say i can seek help from ip support.can you give me their address?

A typo.

P.S. IP = Internet provider or ISP = Internet service provider. You do have one,
correct?

You said, "For example like in XP i can create my own connection. Can i do
that in 98?"
How do you manage to run so many OS's, when you're "s'posedly" so ignorant and uninformed?

Are you really that inexperienced? I seriously doubt, and for your info., we don't
play games on these forums. You can't be so stupid, that you don't understand the
concept of setting up an internet connection.

As you've found out, it wasn't a typo. I usually refer to the provider as an ISP,
but I've seen others use IP so sometimes I do.. never thought much about it.

I don't recall seeing it used that way.
When I see "IP" used, it is in the context of "Internet Protocol" (TCP/IP)
or "Intellectual Property" (copyright, patents, trademarks, trade secrets).
