OpenOffice.org
is gratis
and libre
and is
a replacement for most of Microsoft Office.

If you need Visual Basic macros,
Noel
Power has created a fork of OOo that does those.

OpenOffice.org
has a reputation for being able to open Old M$ Word documents
--which new versions of Microsoft’s products WON'T open properly.
(It’s called “Backwards Compatibility” and Microsoft doesn’t care about it.)

Looks to me as if he/ she thinks Windows Office and the Windows OSes are the same thing. Well, sorry about that, they are not (your Google-Froogle link was how to say the same thing?)
