If anyone is familiar with Juno, please help. Even though I pay for their sevice, everytime I try to get on the internet, I get a message stating "juno has committed an illegal error and will be shut down". After clicking ok, my computer stays connected and I can surf the web through E. What causes this? Thanks.

So, let's see: You pay them for a service,
yet you come here when things go wrong with their service.
Giving $$ to an entity that doesnt perform properly sounds bizarre to me.
Not demanding that THEY tell you how to correct the problem is more bizarre yet.

Garbage software that you don't need to use and (I suspect) didn't need to install.

Assuming you are talking about dial-up Internet access,
all you need from them is a valid phone number to plug into Dial-up Networking.

Again: If a corporation that is taking your $$ isn't delivering,
address you problem to THEM.

I have demanded their help on several occasions, nothing has helped so as a last resort, I tried to get help here. They lhave a great email system and I know others who've been with Juno for years and had no problems so it seems there's something wrong with my system. Thanks anyway.....

Their software already created a "dial-up connection" for you. Set that one as the
default connection in IE.

Thank you Jacob for your kind response! (the first one was rude) This is my first computer, I'm 78 yrs old and frankly, I'm stumped. Your advice is appreciated so will you please explain in detail? Thanks again. Pat.

Go here: http://technet2.microsoft.com...

and start at "Specify a default connection by using the Internet Options"

At number 4, "In the list box..." there should be a connection with Juno in the name.
Use it.

Under that - "Configure Windows to use a dial-up default connection"

choose "Always dial my default connection" and, if preferred, "Connect automatically."

Now you can just open Internet Explorer and it will dial for you.
