Re: Windows 98se. From one day to the next, British English (office 97) disappeared. Only American English is left. As a writer I need the return of British English for spell-checking. How/ what should I do to re-install it? Thanks for your time and trouble! Hope I can return the favour... So long - Marc

Hi Marc.

This isn't really a Win98 problem its a software problem so some people on here will
tell you of for posting here.

But anyway, its been a while since I've used Office 97 but I think the same procedure
applies to my Office 2000.

So what you are saying is if you Open Word and select Tools\Language\Set Language
then English (U.K.) isn't shown?

You could try an uninstall and reinstall.

If you remember the last time it was shown in there if it was within the last 5 days
you could Scanreg /restore in DOS and choose the earliest date shown.
