Does anyone have the NDIS.vxd hotfix for windows 98 when installing on a system with
a CPU faster than 2.1MgHz. My new motherboard and CPU operate at 3.6. Thanks.

Most of my systems are high efficiency, not high core speed, but I've had P4s belonging
to relatives through my little overhaul "shop" here that ran at higher speeds than
any 2.1 GHz, and 98SE never had any hiccoughs, right up to whatever the fastest was
that also had Win98; I'll take a WAG and say it was a 2.6 +/ - P4 North-something.
I remember an article or two about some internal timing problems, but I've never
allowed any W9x reactionary to not make the next to last W9x upgrade, if they expected
me to help out.

Depending on the motherboard, you may/will need other drivers as well. Did it come
with a drivers disc with Win 9X drivers? If yes, you are in luck but if no, you
may not be successful in running 98 on the motherboard. If it has an Intel chipset
and is a newer motherboard (a year or less old), it will not have drivers. Good
Luck!!! (there is also a memory limitation) Post back and let us know what happens.

The fix allowed the system to boot, but I get a windows protection error. I have
a pci board for a monitor and graphics but don't get passed the protection error.
The board came with a disc, but the auto install doesn't work. I haven't checked
the contents yet to determine if win9X drivers are there, but I will.

For Win98 drivers for your motherboard, try the motherboard manufacturer's website.
Search it using the motherboard's model number (or the main part of that number).
