Which W98 file stores the Freecell records (Wins, losses
Streaks etc.) & how is it possible to read it ?
Which one stores the Winmine records ?
If its in the registry, where ?
And, same thing in XP.
Thanks.

These records are normally stored in ini files in the Windows folder. I know Winmine
is in Winmine.ini so I presume there's a Freecell.ini.

I found the winmine.ini. Thanks. There is no Freecell.ini.

of file (or somewhere in the Registry).

Ok Tom I've installed the games just for you. The Freecell data is stored in the
registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\FreeCell
But they aren't easy to modify because they are binary.
Just Run: Regedit and do a search for Freecell.

Hey Keith - Thanks.
They are easy to modify, they are Hexa.

Hey Keith.
It took me a while cause I wasn't around for 2-3 days.
So here is how it goes:
As I was saying the record is in Hexa - Each digit goes
from 0 to f. So if the record shows 0000 00 00 (don't
pay attention to the rest of the right zeros), it's 0
record of course. If it shows 0000 0f 00 it's 16.
If it shows 0000 ff 00 it's 255, ff 02 it's 767 etc.
The record can go up to 65,535 (as far as I found).
Play with the: "won", "streak", "wins" and see how
they effect. For "stype": 1 or more is for wins streak
and 0 is for losses streak.
