What do you mean the disk won't come up? Do you mean access the the CD Rom?
You need a Boot Disk with CD Rom drivers installed.
Change the boot sequence in the BIOS so it reads the floppy drive first then the
hard drive.
Why do you want to reinstall anyway?
I wouldn't advice anyone to try an reinstall Windows, it can cause more problems
than it fixes. You should save all your important files and do a Format and a fresh
install from scratch. You need to make sure you have all the drivers you are likely
to need, video, sound card, printer etc

Brenda, you haven't given enough information.
Please explain, in more detail, (a) what your original problem was, (b) what solution
you were trying to impliment, and (c) exactly what you did - step by step.
Quote any error messages which you saw, giving the EXACT wording of each error message.
Also, please state the name of the manufacturer of your computer, and the model number.
You will usually find these details on a label on the rear of the computer's case,
near the power socket.

I bought this laptop on ebay, they told me it had an os and was loaded, well, we
go to boot it and it and it did what I described. I contacted them again, oh we formatted
it, so I dont know if they fried it or what. Maybe this 98 disk isnt a boot disk,
and I need to check on drivers too. It wont do anything besides restart, test or
error, no matter what function we choose. It stays in c:/ and nothing works there
either. It was giving 00301 error, which I read was a keyboard error, but i know
that isnt the pc problem. I think we been jipped, but i cant find the name of the
one who sold it, or i would be reporting them to ebay. If I remember right, i didnt
give them a good rating. I hope it wouldnt be more to fix it than what we paid for
it. I will read from now on before buying, even on ebay. Thanks

Second bad move Brenda.
You must have had an email saying what you've bought and who you bought it of at
sometime?
How long have you had this laptop?

Brenda, you can find any purchase you made on Ebay. Go there, sign in, and start
checking.

If it will boot to C:\ but nothing works at the C: prompt (no response to keyboard
input) then you've possibly got a keyboard hardware failure.
Try using a replacement keyboard.
