Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

I have a question about Troubleshooting
Driver Problems:
I updated from Win 98 to Win 98SE. I have the correct sound card driver but after
it is unzipped and started to install it asks for the Win 98 SE CD to be put in the
drive. When I do than, I get error messages that it can't find certain files. How
do I fix this problem?
Thanks for any help.l

Which question in that link?

Bad move. If you have the Win98SE CD not an upgrade then you should have saved all
your document files then used a boot disk to format the drive and do a fresh install
of Win98SE.

Anyway when it asks for the Win98SE CD it normally tells you what file its after,
normally its a file inside a CAB file. So click on the Browse button and look on
the CD in the Win98 folder they are all in there.

Thanks for the reply. I did wipe the drive and fdisked it and used the Toshiba factory
boot floppy to format it. (On the Toshiba Floppy there are files for "set up" and
a CD rom dirver I installed them from the floppy.) When I put in the restore disk
from Toshiba a banner read: "Wrong Machine." I reformated the hard drive and installed
a regular install of Windows 98 and then updated it to Windows 98SE. It is a Toshiba
Laptop Model 1555CDS. I don't have any problem with reinstalling everything from
the factory disk if someone can tell be how to get it to work.
Sincerely,
John

Thats what I've said about it being an upgrade.
When it asks for the Win98 CD just cancel it and install the sound drivers you need
when its up and running.
