IE6 illegal operation

IE6 comes up ok, but on certain sites -- like YouTube -- an illegal operation message
comes up. Rebooting does not help. Any thoughts?

From what you posted I think you are getting error messages on You Tube.
You might get a better answer if you post details about the eror message.
My Crystal Ball seems to be on the "fritz"
There's nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

I'll order a new crystal ball for you ... in the meantime, the error message is just
what I said. However, I did ask my daughter to e-mail me the exact message for you
... and here it is "lexplore This program has performed an illegal operation and
will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor." Then, if
she doesn't close the window, but instead clicks another hyperlink, she gets this
message, "Microsoft Internet Explorer An error has occurred in Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer will now close. If you experience problems, please restart your
computer."
That's it.

Eloizabeth,
Thye Crystal is getting clearer already.
It is possible that the problem is Malware related, if that is an "l"=lexplore,
rather than an "I" iexplore.
Got this from google search "lexplore" + other hits.
Run Anti-Virus scan, Spybot search and Destroy and see what comes up.
Check out the post by MsEagle on this Annoyances thread.

Good luck & thanks for polishing the Ball.

Elizabeth,
I've been fighting that problem with "You Tube" for a while now. Exact same error
messages. Done all the suggestions posted to no avail. Microsoft says it's because
of or I lack DirectX 9. I have Direct X 9, so that's not the problem.
If you find a solution, I'd love to hear it. In the meantime, tell your daughter
to hit F5 (refresh) while the page is loading, but before the error box appears.
May have to do it more than once. Trial and error.
Jack....

Try installing additional RAM memory.
I had problems on YouTube, but since I doubled the size of my installed RAM the problems
seem to have gone away.
