At the command prompt or C:\>, type "scanreg /restore" (without quotation marks)
and then press Enter. Note that there is a space after scanreg. Windows will give
you a choice of dates ,choose one and click Restore. Helen's link is very straight
to the point and explains it all.

Desktop message stating I need a new version comes from C:temp(#of file).tmp. with
an ok button which I click on at least 10 times, as it goes through the #s of the
.tmp file s until it disappears for a while, then comes back again. It is very annoying.
Does anyone have a solution? I'm trying to describe the problem exactly.
