I got a windows 98 from a friend awhile back, and I decide to use it today, but the problem is that almost everything is in Taiwanese. My computer is this symbol "我的電腦"...I want the system to be in English, so I can use and understand it. Can anyone help me here? Please! THANKS! Also, it there a way to use Japanese character when typing? p.s.And I don't have a Windows 98 disk

If you want payware that does English, *purchase* that:

A new what_is_drm
link.

If you plan to use an operating system from Micro$oft,
you need to purchase a distribution CD;[1]
that corporation doesn't give away that sort of basic stuff for free.[2]

You will need a CD at some point--like when messing around with international fonts
...or when you hard drive takes The Big Sleep.

[1] an ENGLISH distribution CD.

[2] ...as opposed to Linux--which gives away ALL the software for FREE.

this is the problem.

"p.s.And I don't have a Windows 98 disk"

There is no way to convert, you need to obtain a Windows 98 CD. Win98SE would be
the best.

Try eBay or ask around locally. Should be an abandoned Win98SE CD some where.
