I have a question about Replace
the Ugly Startup and Shutdown Screens:
How do I show the startup screen on my computer? I already made a custom startup
screen with Photoshop, and i replaced the ".sys." file, but when i startup my computer,
it doesnt even show ANY startup screen! Please help me!

Take logow.sys, rename it to logow.bmp, make a copy of logow.bmp in a separate directory
(so you have two), convert this copy to logow1.jpg,work it over in photoshop, use
paintshoppro to convert it back to a .bmp file, open both the original and the worked-over,
copy the worked over into the original as a "pasted selection", save it as a .bmp,
rename it logo.sys, copy it to c:\ Photoshop is not very useful for working .bmp's.

If your problem still isn't solved, I noticed an error in the directions. If you
convert to .bmp, then try to rename with logow.sys, you'll simply have logow.sys.bmp.
I do not think this will load. Instead, don't rename to .bmp. Simply open the
Paint program, choose file and open, put the file type to all files and open up logow.sys.
This will not change it's type, thus keeping it as a .sys file.

It sounds to me like you have more than the 256 color
limit or have saved the file using a format that isn't supported even though it is
a bitmap. I produced one with Paint Shop Pro and reduced the colors to 256 by choosing
"Web-safe" colors and that one didn't work. Choosing "Optimized-Median Cut" did work.

Well Andrew it seems that you probably misplaced the file. You could have put an
invalid file extension

Make sure that you set them to 256 colors. Anything else will not render. Good
luck!
