Question about 'Stop Windows from asking,

I have a question about Stop
Windows from asking, "Do you want to close your connection?": I have Windows
98, and have tried everything I can think of (including what is listed here) to get
windows to stop asking me this, but it won't. The window keeps coming up and often
takes me out of another program I have started to run.. can anyone help me with this?

Go into Tools > Internet Options > Connections Tab > Settings > Advanced >
Uncheck the box labeled "Disconnect connection when no longer may be needed"

even that doesn't work. NOTHING works! this is probably the most irritating feature
that microsoft has done and they probably made it so that no one can get rid of it.

NEW Response:
>I have experienced the same problem. It has nothing to do with the pop-up message
as being dealt with in
Tools>Internet Options>Connections Tab>Settings>Advanced.
This pop-up message is DIFFERENT!
It says:
DISCONNECT - Do you want to close the connection to "name of internet provider" ?
YES - NO
It pops up everytime you close a website.
If anyone knows about it, and how to get rid of it for ever, please respond. Thank
you!

its funny how those that want to get rid of that irritating message can't, and those
that want it back had the message disappear on them.

I found a way to stop the it!
Some computer manufacturers (Compaq, Dell, HP and others) use software to have you
sign-up with their Internet services. This places an entry called Encompass_ENCMONTR
in the Startup tab.
To get rid of it:
1. Select Start > Run and type msconfig in the Open box. Select OK. Config Sys
Utility will open.
2. Go to the StartUp Tab on the Config Sys Utility display.
3. Scroll down until you find Encompass_ENCMONTR.
4. Remove the check box.
(Not recommended IF you are indeed connected with the ISP from your computer manufacturer)
