I have a question about When
I choose "Shut Down" from the Start Menu, my computer restarts instead of shutting
down:
Hi. I am working on a school computer lab and I got this problem on almost all the
machines in here. I have done noting to the video drivers nor the shoutdown screens
of the machines, my work here is very simple to install/uninstall sofware in time
to time. So please, someone can help me out? What is going on? Thank you for taking
the time to read my message.

I had the same problem. Solved it by going to start>run, then type in msconfig
, then click the 'advanced' button, and check the box in front of 'disable fast
shutdown'. Hope this works for you.

Microsoft has a Shutdown Patch for Windows 98. This is a common problem which I
had. Go to www.google.com and type in Windows 98 Shutdown Patch and it should give
yo the location of the file. (available from microsoft). Download it and run it
and it should solve your problem. Keep it handy because sometimes installing new
programs will cuase the bug to return and you will need to rerun the patch program
