Strange that ME is not working for you, I've had Me for a year and it has work great.
Anyway I don't think you will be able to do the "upgrade" (actually downgrade) to
win 98 because if I am correct as you put it in the cd drive it will say that your
operating system is newer than the one you want to install. You can back up all you
files and do clean install of 98, or better yet, go out a buy the upgrade XP home
edition and do a real upgrade, this upgrade will delete ME, keep all your current
files and install the latest OS today. But before you buy check to see if your software/
hardware is XP compatible. Good luck.
