win98se
compaq persario running amdk6 550mhz 383MB ram
2 physical disks 3 partitions 4gb, 2gb, 2gb
i have MSword 2k installed.
mosearch has been causing me problems for some time blue screens and sudden reboots
i didnt know it was even running (doesnt show up in the close prog dialog box.)
it caused an illegel operation tonight and i searched for it. i found it but windows
wont let you rename it.
i had to boot into safe mode to rename it.
for about 2 hrs now my comp has been humming right along w/no errors. it seems faster
and the disks are quieter. i havent tried to fire up word yet but i havent seen
any ill effects of disabling the prog.
