Correcting this type of problem is dangerous using Regedit.
You could really mess up the Registry if you make a mistake. Using a bootable
Windows Recovery diskette and running SCANREG would allow
you to load a backup copy of the Registry from the past 5 days, but this is a lot
of trouble and would wipe out any changes in the Registry you made the last few days.
Using the built in method of doing things like this is better and safer. Depends
on what you want to do. If you want to remove any association with .SDB files so
that they ask what you want to open them with, then you just click on "My Computer",
Tools tab, Folder Options, File Types tab, and this will give you a list of the current
file associations. Scan down the list untill you find SDB. Select it and either
Delete it or select Change. If you delete it, the next time you try to open one of
these, it will ask you what to open it with as when you did it with NotePad. However,
if you select Change, it will give you a list of all the applications it knows about.
If you have no idea what application was being used to open these files (it's not
on my machine), then do a search for *.SDB files and see what folder they are in.
It might give you a clue of the name of the application they are associated with.
