twain driver not allowing my computer to shut down

I have a canon scanner and every thing worked ok until I installed the twain driver
for it,now when I shut down my pc it goes to a black sceen for about 10 secs and
then I get a screen with vertical lines and thats it nothing else happends,so I have
to shut it down via the power button.Any ideas on this?
