Windows ME will not boot. Only starts in Safe mode Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 7:03 am Windows Me Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by marc (9 messages posted) Had trouble with programs starting up all of the sudden. The computer opened in safe mode only. I could not restore to previous date. The last date saved was 6-2-02. It was 1-27-03. I ran a virus scan from safe mode and it found w32/yahag@mm in 2 files in the restore/temp directory. They were removed. Ran scan disk and repair errors. None found. Reran virus scan and virus removal tool from A drive. None found. Defragged. The computer only starts in safe mode. If I leave it start on its own it gets to the windows ME logo page and then goes black with blinking cursor in upper left corner. If I leave it go for about 5 minutes it goes into safe mode page.
