Carol I am back at it. I deleted several of these duplicates and rebooted. The
computer did not go right into safe mode. Instead I got the distorted desktop picture
and after several seconds it reinstalled several of the drivers, but still did not
go into safe mode. I rebooted again and it gave me a choice of how to start. The
other thing that started happening last night was the icons on my desktop changed
to the white with blue bordered windows.
I also get a message when the Compaq/Microsoft Help center initializes. I does not
complete and I get a message to report the following error to Microsoft. 2147143679.
