Hi Carol! Thank you for your message. The Windows Media Player 9 was offered to
us as an update when we either e-mailed someone or accessed the Internet; we don't
remember which. We just assumed that it was an improvement on what we were using...what
a joke. It is not listed on Add/Remove Programs and the Setup only lists "Multimedia"
at 14MB. We don't know which version we had and discovered that we did not get an
installation CD with our computer when we purchased it. Steve has responded as well
and we looked up the website he suggested. According to that site the only way to
get rid of "9" is to do a system restore and it may not get rid of all the "9" files
and may adversely affect the operation of our computer afterward. Learning the hard
