Tim, I have found that if I don't end task on everything that is up and running ie.
control/alt/delete (one time) and then shut down my screensaver, I will have the
same problem with my Scan Disk. However, like you, my pc is also spuradic on when
it chooses not to completely shut down. It's frustrating to say the least.
