Firstly, if you're not networked and don't want the network logon box popping up,
go into the Control Panel - Network applet. For Primary Network Login choose Windows
Logon.
While you're in the Network applet, remove unnecessary network devices. There are
many installed by default that are not needed in every case. Remove Client for MS
Networks, NetBEUI, IPX/SPX Compatible.
If you have an Ethernet card (NIC) installed but aren't using it, go into Device
Manager click the plus and highlight and choose Properties. Disable it. It'll have
a question mark next to it, but those really affect performance.
Password Properties
Check > All users of this PC use the same preferences and desktop settings.
