Hi
Thanks to all who responded promptly. When I boot up, the key board lights up along
with mouse. I haven't checked the sound system as I disconnected all except the monitor,
keyboard and mouse.
I will try out the other suggestions too. The response from HP team is that it is
a hard ware problem and they can't give any specifics.
