Thanks for your response. We recently switched to XP after a long and meaningful
relationship with ME. Sorry. Could you direct me to any specific posts that could
help me with XP?

I did download Spy Bot. Thank you for that bit of advice. Things are moving much
faster now. It did not get rid of the huge "keenvalue" program that has been annoying
me for months now, but after some digging I realized I could just delete the program
manually. I would love to find out what those other programs are that run automatically
upon start-up. I'm thinking there is some fat to be cut there as well, but I'm not
savvy enough to know what's what.

Thanks again!

If no joy, the REMOVE OutLook Express and the reinstall it. Go to Control Panel, >Add/Remove programs, and click the Windows Update tab. Locate the OutLook Express >line and UN-check it. Click Apply and OK. When done, go back in and check the OutLook >Express box, click Apply and then OK again. Then do the IE Repair thing again and >reboot.
