The problem occurred after installing some Windows updates. When booting, the computer displayed an explorer.exe error and stated that Windows needed to be reinstalled. Compounding the problem was that the CD-ROM drive was found to be inoperable and needed to be replaced. After replacing the CD-ROM drive, I attempted to reinstall ME but got "SUWIN and verx.dll" errors when the installation progress reached 65%. After following Mac's suggestions for renaming the files, I was able to reinstall WinME and successfully restore the computer to it's original state.
