Hi Patricia,
In layman's terms this is what happened.
"MSIMN" is Outlook Express. GDI means Graphical Device Interface. A "General Protection
Fault" is a computer condition which causes Windows to crash. It's usually caused
by one application trying to use a block of memory which is in use by another program.
The set of alpha-numeric characters is the memory address where the problem occurred.
General Protection Faults are caused by a number of factors the most common of
which are:
1. Insufficient memory.
2. Incorrect drivers.
3. Corrupted or missing Windows files.
4. Programs attempting to exchange data they are not designed to read.
If you were attempting to use Outlook Express as the time, make sure you close
all other programs first before running it again. That'll reduce the chances of the
problem recurring.
