Although this original problem was posted some time ago I have a possible answer. I have just built a Win Me machine and been suffering the same issues. I found that deleting the Autologon reg key in the following path solved all my issues: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\Real Mode Net See Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 141858 For more details Hope that helps any one out there still suffering
