There have been many posts on this forum lately, regarding resource problems.
It would be good to elimimate spyware as the culprit. Let's do this. Excuse the length,
and you may have done some of this already. Download the CWShredder: Merjin.org Direct download: CWShredder.exe
Close all browser windows and run it offline. Keep it on hand, as there are many
problems with this particular hijacker. He updates it frequently, so check for a
newer version often.
Next, run Spybot to clean out most of the spyware:
Download SpybotSD Close all running programs, install then reboot.
Start it and go online and press 'search for updates' tab. (NOTE: select the US or
Australian mirror site to download updates from, if you have problems). Download
all updates that aren't optional. Close all browser windows and run the scan. Then
click 'Check All', and fix everything Spybot labels in red. Reboot.
Then download: 'HijackThis'
Unzip 'HT' into a new folder. Close all browser windows and run it offline. Double
click the .Exe file to run it. Choose Scan. It will display a list. Most of the things
you see listed are necessary or required entries, so don't fix anything YET, until
you know which items to fix. For a description on the entries in the log, check here:

The Scan button will turn into Save Log. Choose Save log, then click Edit - Select
all and copy/paste the contents of the log file in a post.
PLEASE choose this Option below the message window before posting the log, so it's
formatted properly: Check this box to preserve your spacing....
Also, clear out your TIF and other temp files. Control Panel - Internet Options.
Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files, choose to delete
all Offline content. Clear out Cookies. Also, go to Start - Find - Files or folders
- in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit - select all - File - delete. Empty
the contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. Empty
Recycle bin.
Have you gone through Jack Gulley's list of ME fixes and trimmed down your startups,
etc.? If you've been around the forum, you've most likely have seen this post.
