Hi! Check this out. I've tried this and it fixed my problem in directx. Hope your
will be fixed by this too.
One of the two files has been overlaid by a back level version or was not correctly
updated with a new version.
You should be downloading and installing Direct-X 9.0b version from the Windows UpDate
site. Not version 8.0 which is backlevel and has many bugs. Sounds like you may have
corrupted you Direct-X software and "back leveled" it.
C:\Windows\System\D3D8.DLL should have date 12/12/2002 at version 4.9.0.900.
C:\Windows\System\DDRAW.DLL should have a date 12/12/2002 at version 4.9.0.900.
If both do not have the same, then try installing it from the Windows UpDate along
with all the other Windows ME updates and security updates, or downloading Direct-X
9.0b from here and installing it over your current mess.
