When you did the IE security updates, did you do as advised and close all other
programs, including your AV and Firewall. Not closing these can cause problems.
If you do the updates correctly, there is only one minor problem I am aware of
(vertical slide bar in Frames at random stick to the bottom), caused by the last
IE security update.
Try, disconnecting from the Internet, booting into Safe Mode, go to Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs, select the "Microsoft Internet Explorer ... and Internet Tools"
line, then click Add/Remove. On the options screen, select the "Repair Internet Explorer"
line. When done, reboot system and check. You then need to go back the the Windows
Update site and check for reloading any of the security updates.
The security updates help prevent some these virus and browser hijackers from
getting in so easy.
