You have to be able to boot the system with either Windows or some version of
DOS that supports the 32bit FAT and Long File Names. MS DOS 6.22 and below will not
do.
If you can boot the system into Safe mode, you can start the SETUP program in
C:\Windows\Options\Install folder. (sometimes its in the C:\Windows\Options\CABS
folder). If not, then you need a Windows 98/ME boot or startup diskette. You can
make one on any running Windows ME system. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs,
Startup disk tab.
If you are stuck with only a Windows 95 or NT/XP system you can use the BOOTDISK.com
web site to download a diskette image and their utility to make a boot diskette.
Then from the boot diskette's A:\ prompt, run C:\Windows\Options\Install\SETUP and
have your systems ProductKey handy.
