What do if I can't boot or get to my ME BIOS?

I have a question about What do I do if my BIOS is causing a problem with Windows?:

I have a Sony PCG-140FX, PIII, 384 RAM notebook. I installed a new 20 GB HD (10 GB was the original HD size) and used my System Recovery disk to re-install software. ME installed and system came up but froze. I was able to re-boot, but system would freeze after about 5 minutes. Now the system will not boot or even come up to the Logo screen to access the BIOS.
